The receiver decides 20:02 on Tuesday

I’ve written about this before at least twice 1, 2, but somehow a regular reminder doesn’t seem out of place:

Before sending a written message, the time spent re-reading and reconsidering your message from the viewpoint of the receiver, is never wasted.

It can take half an hour. It can even take an hour for a complex topic. But believe me, the time spent will be nothing compared to the problems caused by misinterpreted text and the trouble of clarifying your points after the fire has broken out.
