Companies must learn to live with disagreement 22:58 on Sunday
The whole week was extremely busy with all kinds of small things becoming active at the same time… hence very light blogging here. The time I wasn’t on the computer I tried to spend drinking and eating with friends.
I picked up an interesting quote from an online discussion I’ve been participating in, about “organizations as wikis”. This quote is from Aleksi, an old friend of mine, who’s currently studying something cryptic about large scale information systems. There’s food for a longer post here, but I can’t get my head around to writing it now:
Companies are more and more dependent on the creation of new knowledge, they have to learn to live with disagreement. The academic environment, which exists, by definition, to create new knowledge is not driven by agreement but disagreement.
We need disagreement. Or we need to embrace disagreement?
