Trying out Thingamy 08:34 on Monday

Last week I was kindly provided a preview version of Thingamy (see my attempt at describing it) and I’ve had my first contact with it over the weekend. Here are my first impressions.

When you see Thingamy you get excited. When you try it out, you get frustrated. Why? Because looking at it makes a thousand possibilities spring to mind. Starting out with it on the other hand is really hard. Not because the system is difficult, but because there is so much to unlearn.

My mantra for Thingamy “developing” is to think less OOP and more Lego. Less “plan-build-iterate” than “build-crash-rebuild better”. Less developing and more playing. Thingamy requires a different mindset.
