Search engines stealing from websites 23:59 on Tuesday

Jakob Nielsen makes an interesting, although highly speculative sounding argument about how search engines might start stealing the value of websites by linking users directly to the (cached?) content and in essence bypassing the sites themselves. For this reason websites should aim to liberate themselves from search dependency. Says Jakob.

There’s probably an interesting argument here to be made in relation to findability, I just can’t make it in the middle of the night.
