Apple takes on PhotoShop 23:01 on Wednesday

Apple has systematically conquered the pro markets for video and audio, but somehow I thought this day would never come: Apple takes on Photoshop and the pro photo market with Aperture. Based on screenshots, the interface is very much task-based and that really is something for Adobe to fear for. Stability and real life usability are a different matter of course.

Edit: After checking it out more thoroughly, it appears Aperture is great for the photograper who only needs “dark room” features. For the digital compositor Photoshop is the thing. In this light, Aperture is more like iPhoto for pros. Which makes sense for Apple to have, after all they already have consumer and pro versions of video and audio apps.
