Aggregated search for music download sites 15:54 on Monday

The biggest usability obstacle of current music download sites is the lack of an aggregated search engine. At times you need to go through twenty sites, all with separate registration and different search interface, to find the track you’re looking for. The experience is time consuming and frustrating, when it should be fun and effortless.

To really get the online music business rolling, we need a common search engine. If I was to decide it would be on Discogs.com – they’ve already got a big database of releases, and they’ve got good search. If music download sites would pay Discogs a little commission, Discogs would probably even have the resources to run the search.
